El 25 de enero de 2013 fue el día elegido para celebrar un taller que reunió a diferentes actores participantes en la “Campaña por la no violencia en Cuba”. La fecha se suma a la pro­puesta realizada por Naciones Unidas de esti­mular la celebración de una actividad a favor de la eliminación de la violencia contra las mu­jeres y las niñas los días 25 de cada mes.

El encuentro fue convocado por el Grupo de Reflexión y Solidaridad “Oscar Arnulfo Rome­ro” (OAR) y la Federación de Mujeres Cubanas (FMC), en colaboración con el Sistema de las Naciones Unidas en Cuba (SNU) y la Agencia Suiza para el Desarrollo y la Cooperación (COSUDE). Tuvo como propósito propiciar el intercambio en­tre actores que participan en la campaña, así como crear estrategias de trabajo para promo­ver la articulación entre quienes han tenido un rol destacado en este proceso.

El espacio pretendió, además, hacer un balance de los principales logros obtenidos, de cara a los cambios, impactos y efectos alcanzados, para pensar en lo que se puede hacer de manera conjunta, durante 2013 con el fin de lograr re­sultados más efectivos.

Con la participación de representantes de numerosas institu­ciones, organismos, organizaciones de la so­ciedad civil, agencias de cooperación y del Sistema de Naciones Unidas, se dio inicio a esta reunión cuyas palabras de bienvenida es­tuvieron a cargo de la señora Bárbara Pesce-Monteiro, coordinadora residente de dicho sistema y representante del Programa de Na­ciones Unidas para el Desarrollo (PNUD).

Durante el espacio se presentaron cinco ex­periencias de trabajo en la implementación de acciones de comunicación a favor de la no violencia: la del Grupo de Reflexión y Solidaridad “Oscar Arnulfo Romero” (OAR) - Fede­ración de Mujeres Cubana (FMC); Red Iberoameri­cana y Africana de Masculinidades - Proyecto “Todas contracorriente”; Centro Nacional de Educación Sexual (CENESEX) - Unión de Juristas de Cuba (UNJC); Cátedra de Género y Comunicación de la Universidad de La Habana - Agencia de Noticias de la Mujer (SEMlac); y la Cam­paña ÚNETE del Sistema de Naciones Unidas en Cuba.

Si bien las instituciones mencionadas no han sido las únicas que han desarrollado acciones, las experiencias presentadas constituyeron la materia prima que sirvió de base para provo­car el intercambio, la reflexión, el compartir criterios y llegar a generalidades. Después se mostró una síntesis de las experiencias y se promovió y enriqueció el debate a partir de los resultados y experiencias de otros actores.

Finalmente quedaron establecidas las estrate­gias para la plataforma de trabajo 2013, tales como la realización de concursos para la ima­gen de la campaña, la creación de un grupo gestor con experiencia en temas de comuni­cación y violencia que se responsabilice con la realización de la campaña, la definición de ob­jetivos de una campaña única que marque un camino común en diferentes ejes de trabajo, la sistematización de acciones e investigacio­nes y la reunión de decisores para establecer líneas de acción en el análisis minucioso de los diferentes componentes del tema: prevención, comunicación, atención e investigación.
