19.      No perdamos el cielo

“Que no nos engañen con ilusiones las ventajas de la tierra”.  Monseñor pone el dedo en una de las grandes llagas de nuestra sociedad: las ofertas, las ilusiones sobre lo que podemos obtener, lo que podemos lograr ser según los criterios “de la tierra”.   La TV no parece ser un canal ni para informarnos, ni para conseguir (sana?) diversión, sino un canal para bombardearnos con esas ilusiones, sobre todo de mercado, pero también ilusiones políticas y sociales. En tiempos electorales aun peor.  Pero también los partidos políticos, especialmente sus dirigentes, se han adueñado de la verdad, de la única lectura y comprensión de la verdad, y de la única respuesta “correcta”.   Y las iglesias con sus doctrinas, normas, cánones, instrucciones administrativas,…  nos presentan “ilusiones” acerca de cómo llegar al cielo, o sea “salvarse”, mientras en realidad sus fieles están bajo “la ley” como nos denunció San Pablo tantas veces.

¿Qué podemos hacer para “tener el corazón libre para seguir a Cristo”?  Si Monseñor Romero no pide que estemos alertos para no perder el cielo, hace referencia a esa libertad verdadera para seguir a Jesús, para optar por el camino del Evangelio, el camino del Reino de Dios, ese proyecto para una civilización y humanización diferente: de fraternidad, de justicia, de solidaridad, de entrega y servicio, de alegría,…  No son las cosas de la tierra que nos harán felices, no son las ideologías políticas que nos darán vida, ni las comidas chatarra, ni las gaseosas, ni los celulares más modernas, ni el tener más, ni tener “prestigio social” o ser elogiado en Facebook.  Solo “el seguir a Jesús”, el caminar humildemente con el Dios de la vida. 

20.      Dejarnos guiar por el Espíritu

Monseñor Romero llama la situación del país (en su tiempo, pero vale aún más para hoy) “esta incivilidad en que vivimos, en que nos estamos acabando unos con otros”.  El sistema económico (capitalismo neoliberal) realmente devora la clase trabajadora y necesita de una gran cantidad de desempleados para poder pagar salarios bajos. El sistema judicial es como la culebra que muerde al descalzo.  El sistema político partidario es una partidocracia donde las cúpulas deciden quienes serán los candidatos para alcaldes, para la asamblea y para la presidencia.  El sistema social que tenemos es totalmente excluyente, donde los proyectos sociales del gobierno actual por de pronto alivia los dolores por tiempo limitado.  Realmente esta sociedad es una “incivilidad”.  No hay dudas.

Estamos tan lejos de “amarnos los unos a los otros”.  El sistema de incivilidad nos anima a ser lobos frente a otros.   Monseñor nos pide “hacer el esfuerzo por amarnos de verdad” y “hacer de nuestra Iglesia una verdadera antorcha de la libertad”.  Esto solo será posible si nos dejamos guiar por el Soplo Santo, por el Espíritu Santo, el Espíritu de Jesús, el Espíritu de Dios mismo.  

Las comunidades eclesiales de base tenemos que ser el laboratorio, el ensayo en vivo, de esa nueva sociedad de “civilidad” donde vamos aprendiendo a amarnos como hermanos/as, a romper los egoísmos para ser solidarios, a desaprender a dominar a otros para ponernos al servicio de otros, a ponernos al lado de las y los más (em-)pobre(cido/a)s en la lucha común por la vida.  Por eso nos urge con toda sinceridad ponernos debajo de la luz del Soplo Santo, inspirarnos en la radicalidad del Evangelio. 

21.  Una paz fecunda

A  25 años de la firma de los acuerdos de paz (firmados entre las cúpulas de la guerrilla y del gobierno – no con el pueblo!!!) y en el momento de empezar a hablar de una segunda generación de acuerdos de paz, es importante volver a escuchar a Monseñor Romero. Nos habla de “una paz fecunda”.  Es una paz que “exige el cumplimiento del derecho, que exige el respeto a la dignidad humana, una paz que no se conforma nunca por no tener problemas con los que atropellan estos grandes derechos de la humanidad”.

La paz no es el fin de una guerra. No puede haber paz con políticas de represión en plena vigencia y policías con “salvoconducto” para matar a pandilleros.  No puede haber paz si el sistema político permite que empresas se roban los aportes de sus trabajadores/as al seguro y las AFP, o que no pagan sus impuestos. No puede haber paz sin transformar la estructura económica injusta (ese modelo capitalista neoliberal) que produce “empobrecidos/as”.  No puede haber paz si se aguanta “a los que atropellan la dignidad de las y los trabajadores/as”.  No puede haber paz mientras haya medios de comunicación que desinforman al pueblo, que ideologizan al pueblo hacia la aceptación de este sistema injusto, que solo les interesa los espectáculos políticos y sociales.  

Una paz fecunda nos exige una lucha constante por el cumplimiento del derecho (mucho más allá de las leyes) y la dignidad humana de todos y todas.  Nadie puede vivir “tranquilamente” mientras otros/as están obligados a vivir en intranquilidad porque el salario no alcanza, porque no tienen trabajo, porque tienen que hacer largas jornadas por 6 o  7 $ al día, porque viven aterrorizados por las pandillas, porque se tiene miedo a los policías,…
