Los Comités Oscar Romero de Europa denuncian la arremetida de la derecha en América Latina

Después de las crueles dictaduras militares que ocasionaron decenas de miles de desaparecidos y muertos en América Latina, se impusieron con fuerza las políticas económicas de corte neoliberal. Antes, los pobres morían por las balas, ahora por el expolio de sus recursos y por el hambre.

En medio de esta pseudo-democracia fue despertándose la conciencia de los pueblos latinoamericanos. Es así como emprendieron un proceso de liberación del dominio extranjero principalmente de Estados Unidos. Se eligieron gobiernos progresistas que promovieron políticas a favor del pueblo, campesinos, indígenas, afrodescendientes y trabajadores en general, con el fin de mejorar su calidad de vida y fomentar la igualdad.

Algunos de estos países se inspiraron en el espíritu del libertador Simón Bolívar como Venezuela, Bolivia y Ecuador. Otros gobiernos como Brasil, Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay y Honduras se aliaron a ellos. Todos llegaron al poder mediante elecciones democráticas.

Estos gobiernos, en medio de sus desaciertos e incluso errores, hicieron logros considerables en materia de educación, salud pública, equidad, desarrollo comunitario y democracia participativa en beneficio de las grandes mayorías. Redujeron la pobreza, el analfabetismo, la desnutrición y mortalidad infantil. Son logros reconocidos por el PNUD, Unesco, OMS y FAO.

Todos estos gobiernos respetaron, desde el principio, la propiedad privada de los medios de producción. Pero impulsaron un proceso de redistribución de la riqueza con un fuerte sentido social y de autonomía frente al imperialismo norteamericano y de las grandes corporaciones internacionales.

Venezuela, con Hugo Chávez, impulsó la creación del ALBA (Alianza Bolivariana para las Américas) al que se unieron estos países y algunos de Centroamérica como Nicaragua y Honduras. Lo cual exasperó a Washington, al FMI, al Banco Mundial, a las multinacionales y a toda la derecha nacional e internacional, que no toleran ningún experimento sociopolítico que no esté bajo su control.

Es por eso que Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Brasil y Argentina han sido blanco de ataques de la derecha nacional e internacional. En Honduras dieron golpe de Estado contra el presidente Manuel Zelaya. En Paraguay desbancaron al presidente Fernando Lugo. En El Salvador obstaculizan las reformas que el gobierno del FMLN trata de impulsar.

En Centroamérica, sobre todo en Honduras y Guatemala, los planes de la derecha y de los poderes económicos se han impuesto con fuerza expoliando los recursos de los campesinos, sobre todo la minería e hidroeléctricas, reprimiendo y asesinando a muchos de sus líderes. Honduras es hoy el país con más periodistas, líderes campesinos e indígenas, sindicalistas y defensores de los derechos humanos asesinados en América Latina en proporción al número de habitantes. Le sigue Guatemala, México, Colombia y Perú, cuyos gobiernos están sometidos al gran capital. ¿Qué medios de comunicación se hacen eco de ello?

La revolución bolivariana de Venezuela está siendo descaradamente hostigada. El objetivo de los líderes de la derecha nacional e internacional y de Estados Unidos es generar disturbios y violencia, para preparar un plan de intervención militar.

Han creado un caos alimentario de manera que suscite un descontento generalizado entre la población. Los alimentos han sido producidos, pero no han sido colocados en los centros comerciales por los grandes empresarios, ligados a la oposición. Por lo tanto, el boicot no está en la producción sino en la distribución de estos bienes.

No cabe duda que el presidente Maduro ha tenido errores y desaciertos en su gestión política, pero esto no justifica lo que está haciendo la oposición con el apoyo de la derecha internacional y mucho menos sus acciones criminales (incendios de autobuses, escuelas, allanamientos, asesinatos de chavistas...).

La oposición, al estar ligada con los poderes económicos, no reconoce los cambios realizados en beneficio de los que históricamente han sido marginados y excluidos. La pobreza se redujo del 49,4% a un 27,8%. El número de médicos se aumentó del 18% al 58% por cada 10.000 habitantes. De 387.000 pensionistas se elevaron a dos millones. Son indiscutibles los avances sociales de la revolución bolivariana que, como señalé anteriormente, han sido reconocidos por organismos internacionales.

Venezuela está siendo víctima de una agresión sistemática de los medios de comunicación de la derecha mundial (en España muy particularmente por los diarios La Razón, ABC, el País y por la 13TV y la COPE) y de una política global de carácter diplomático. Los gobiernos de Madrid, Bogotá y Washington son los epicentros de la campaña contra Venezuela, pero Estados Unidos, y más ahora con Donald Trump, es el principal foco en donde se gestionan todas las presiones sobre los gobiernos de América Latina y el Caribe.

En Argentina, con la salida del gobierno de Cristina Fernández y la subida al poder del ultra neoliberal Mauricio Macri apoyado por la derecha internacional, se están llevando a cabo despidos masivos y privatizaciones de servicio públicos que afectan a los más pobres.

En Brasil la ultraderecha no ha querido esperar a las elecciones, que probablemente perdería y es por eso que dieron un golpe palaciego contra la presidenta Dilma Rousseff, del Partido de los Trabajadores.

Con los cambios de gobierno sobre todo en Argentina y en Brasil se despeja el camino para una intervención en Venezuela. Se está impulsando el aislamiento internacional al gobierno del presidente Maduro, presentándolo como un dictador enfrentado al Congreso. La oposición y la derecha internacional están pidiendo a gritos una intervención de la OEA para exigir al presidente Maduro su renuncia. La revolución bolivariana pende de un hilo.

Estados Unidos no cesa los ataques contra Bolivia. La derecha boliviana, apoyada por los medios de comunicación que están en su poder, intenta opacar los logros de la revolución democrática y cultural impulsada por el presidente Evo Morales, obedeciendo a los planes de la embajada estadounidense para desprestigiar los logros de las políticas sociales y desestabilizar el proceso bolivariano.

Los cristianos que hemos optado por la liberación de los pobres denunciamos el cerco en que se encuentran los países, tildados de "bolivarianos" y progresistas, que son difamados, acorralados por el gran capital y los medios de comunicación de la derecha internacional, señalándolos no sólo de corruptos sino también de dictadores. Denunciamos los planes de desestabilización que se gestan contra estos países que buscan una mayor justicia social y, concretamente contra la República Bolivariana de Venezuela.

Los Comités Óscar Romero de Europa hacen un llamado a la opción inclaudicable por la vida, la defensa de los derechos humanos y la reconstrucción de la esperanza de los pobres. Y para ello urge un respeto a los proceso de liberación que los pueblos latinoamericanos han escogido. Es una exigencia radical de la fe cristiana.
