340. La sencillez de la fe.

En la última cita de su homilía a un mes de su asesinato y resurrección, Monseñor vuelve a hablar del “único proyecto de Dios”.  Aclara que ese proyecto de Dios no tiene nada que ver con “cosas ostentosas”, ni con “una religión triunfalista”, ni con “política triunfalista”. Y podemos dar muchos ejemplos de esas tres denuncias. 

Monseñor se refiere esta vez a la vida diaria en toda su sencillez: darle un sentido de amor, de libertad, sin pretensiones de dominar,… Y podemos añadir completando: una vida sin mentira ni engaños, ni corrupción – una vida transparente.  Monseñor lo dice tan sencillamente “cada uno comiendo con justicia el pan que necesita su familia”.  Es una denuncia del consumismo, del sistema económico que trata de convencer al pueblo de necesidades que no necesita.   El otro día oí el comentario de alguien que decía, ¿como se puede reclamar que la comida está cara teniendo dos o más celulares?  (que deben pagarse, que deben ser de la última generación, que deben tener saldo suficiente,..).  “Cada uno comiendo con justicia el pan que necesita la familia”, cada familia con las necesidades básicas de una vida digna plenamente satisfechas.   Eso es vivir la fe en el proyecto de Dios, en esa sencillez.

341. Trato de mantenerme unido a Dios.

Tratar de mantenerse unido a Dios”. Monseñor da testimonio de su oración diario, su reflexión, sus ejercicios espirituales.  Me llama la atención que no habla de seguridades acerca de su unión con Dios, sino habla de “trato de mantenerme unido a Dios”.  En realidad así es. Nadie se hace dueño de Dios, nadie puede pretender controlar a Dios.  El contacto íntimo con Dios no es una llamada desde un celular, ni por Facebook.  Solo podemos hablar de “tratar de mantenernos unido a Dios”.  Así como en Monseñor Romero, también para nosotros, siempre habrá momentos de interferencia en ese contacto, tiempos de tormento y oscuridad, tiempos de no entender, tiempos de duda,…  Claro que sí.  El camino de Jesús es un camino a discernir para cada uno/a, pero exige – si queremos ser fieles a nuestra vocación – tratar de mantenerse unido a Dios.  Solo podremos vencer las tentaciones si constantemente tratamos de estar unido a Dios, de escuchar a Dios en el silencio de la conciencia.  La Biblia y el sufrimiento del pueblo son dos fuentes importantes donde el Dios de la Vida nos hablará. 

342. Nuestro destino es vivir la vida de Dios.

Monseñor encuentra en su fe en la resurrección y la vida eterna la profunda motivación para “trabajar con más garra, con más gusto, las grandes responsabilidades de la tierra”.   La fe de Monseñor Romero no es alienante, no es frustrante, no es extraterrestre.  Monseñor cree que seremos “arrancados del pecado y de la muerte”, para vivir en presencia plena de Dios.

Si nuestro destino final es vivir la vida de Dios, podemos encontrar toda la motivación para colaborar aquí a arrancarnos del pecado y de la muerte. Para Monseñor no eran palabas teóricas o en el aíre.  Estaba viviendo la realidad histórica de pecado y de muerte: la muerte constante del pobre y el enriquecimiento de los ricos, la borrachera del poder de los militares.   Desde su fe, desde sus ojos fijos en Jesús transfigurado en el monte Tabor, Monseñor encontró las fuerzas necesarias para ser la voz de su pueblo sangrando, la voz profética que denunciaba constantemente el pecado y la muerte. Vivir la vida de Dios, no es un asunto religioso, ni es para el futuro, sino es algo que nos toca hacer ahora y luchar en contra de todo lo que impide hoy vivir la vida de Dios: justicia, fraternidad, solidaridad, verdad, libertad, misericordia, vida…. “la voluntad de Dios es que el pobre viva”.

343. Cristo vive y es energía de Dios.

Tener fe en el Cristo que vive y que es energía de Dios.”  Si nos arriesgamos a andar por el camino de Jesús, por ese sendero, por esas huellas en la historia, contaremos con la energía de Dios.  Creer que Cristo vive hoy, no es un asunto religioso, sino es una manera de vivir, de entregarse, de servir, de darse.  Asumiendo el discipulado de Jesús, hacer que lo que Él hizo, solo es posible gracias a la “energía de Dios”. 

Quien se arriesga a ese caminar, encontrará también al diablo, como los evangelistas lo presentan en el desierto ahí con Jesús.  Las tentaciones sobran.  Jesús los ha vencido. Nos toca a nosotros hacerlo también y podremos contar con la “energía de Dios”, pero habrá que luchar, una y otra vez y nuevamente.   Cristo vive no es un eslogan para pintar en las paredes. No dice nada.   Ni que Cristo vendrá.  Creer en Jesús, hijo de Dios, encarnado en esta historia, es una manera de vivir, de servir, para que los pobres vivan.  Eso es la gloria de Dios. Ahí recibiremos su energía.
