Cristianismo y revolución en América Latina son experiencias vividas y sentidas en las últimas décadas en la realidad de nuestro continente con el objetivo de desconfigurar sociedades nominativas cristianas caracterizadas por su analogía con la estructura social religiosa que persiguió a Cristo, sociedades marcadas por la exclusión de los sujetos históricos debido a políticas de reformas neoliberales que han provocado un reparto desigual de las oportunidades sociales y creado una brecha en la sociedad.

La teología surgida en América Latina parte de la necesidad de una revolución interior o conversión que cambie los valores tradicionales por los valores evangélicos, que son aquellos que Jesús predicó y fueron la causa de su reprobación y ejecución.

La novedad teológica del cristianismo en nuestro continente radica en que la virtud no está en la vida religiosa dentro de una comunidad y la obediencia a sus mandatos, sino en la opción personal y el compromiso a favor de la justicia y esta, al bien moral como propósito de la misión de Jesucristo. Así nos enseñó monseñor Sergio Méndez Arceo cuando en 1980 creó, junto a otros obispos latinoamericanos, la Secretaría Internacional Cristiana de Solidaridad con América Latina (SICSAL), que posteriormente cambiaría por Secretaría de Servicio, como lo recuerda el artículo de Armando Márquez, actual secretario general del SICSAL.

El cristianismo nos exige ejercer la paz y repudiar la violencia, mostrando el amor eficaz y repudiando todo egoísmo, no con palabras y discursos, sino con opciones de vida que testimonien una realidad trascendental, por eso nos expone brillantemente François Houtart: "Se trata de un paso indispensable para terminar un largo conflicto armado y crear condiciones de una nueva construcción política y social." Y añade: "Sin embargo, eso no significa el fin de las luchas sociales en Colombia. La burguesía cambia de estrategia, frente a la imposibilidad de una solución militar, pero no abandona sus ambiciones hegemónicas".

Si el cristianismo se ha de predicar desde la vida, porque un modo de ser solo se realiza siéndolo, hay que hablar entonces de las mujeres y cuál es la reflexión que desde ellas se produce, por eso el artículo de la pastora y teóloga presbiteriana Miriam Ofelia Ortega nos adentra en este quehacer de varias mujeres cubanas en el contexto nacional.

Y en ese peregrinaje por la Revolución cubana, un joven pastor bautista, Amós López, nos introduce desde su experiencia personal en cómo Dios le habló y habla a través de esa historia vivida en la cual se fue conformando la identidad cultural de cubanos y cubanas.

En el espacio "Quehaceres teológicos" un apreciado artículo del ya fallecido pastor y teólogo presbiteriano Carlos Camps nos dice de qué manera el Señor de la historia colocó a los cristianos en la década de los años sesenta del pasado siglo en lo que llama "un camino desierto donde el andar se hacía distinto cada día, sin modelos a seguir, sin los soportes humanos en quienes debíamos confiar. Esta realidad desafiaba nuestro esfuerzo propio, nuestro pensamiento autóctono, nuestra visión teológica, a 4 fin de asirnos a las promesas del Dios de la historia." Su artículo nos permite ver el recorrido del pensamiento teológico cubano en estos años de revolución. Y es que la esencia de la teología cristiana de la Revolución se encuentra en la figura misma de Jesucristo, que se muestra desde la humildad de un pueblo insignificante, en un espacio intrascendente y en un entorno social irrelevante, pero con la responsabilidad de construir el Reino.

Los comicios en Argentina y la nueva bancada derechista en la Asamblea Nacional de Venezuela abren el debate sobre Latinoamérica, a la vez que nos preguntamos qué pasará. "Son nuevos tiempos los que vive la región. Varias preguntas están sobre mesas también nuevas y construidas en más de una década de procesos que fueron resultados de luchas populares", así nos expresa Llanisca Lugo en su artículo "Una mirada a los movimientos sociales en América Latina".

En noviembre y diciembre se desarrolló la Jornada Nacional por la No Violencia hacia la Mujer. Al decir de una de nuestras vicedirectoras, Mareelen Díaz, "… la violencia de género la enfocamos no solo desde la desigualdad que está en la base de este fenómeno, sino también desde un diagnóstico que ayude a identificar y visibilizar las diferentes manifestaciones de violencia en los territorios, con vistas a su atención y prevención". Por eso un recorrido por toda la Jornada nos acercará de forma amena a la campaña "Eres Más" y nos mostrará el quehacer de OAR en ella.
